Ginsights at Olims
Ginsights Literary Events at Olims Bar & Bistro
Presented in partnership with Canberra Writers Festival, Big River Distilling Co, Paperchain Bookstore, and Marion – Elevating Writers and their Art.
Ginsights is an informal literary event held regularly in the Carlton Lounge at Olims Bar and Bistro. Guest authors from Canberra, our region and other parts of Australia share conversation and cocktails with the keen readers of Canberra. Paperchain bookstore staff come along to sell copies of the authors books. Olims Bar and Bistro will be serving a cocktail of the night featuring Big River spirits and a Big River G&T, in addition to their usual selection of drinks and dining options.
Ginsights is a ticketed event and bookings are required: GINSIGHTS: Anita Heiss
Next Event
Tuesday 7th July – Anita Heiss
Dr Anita Heiss is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning author, proud Wiradyuri woman, Professor of Communications at the University of Queensland, and Publisher at Large for Bundyi, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Author of more than 20 books spanning historical fiction, commercial women’s fiction, children’s literature and non-fiction, Anita is one of Australia’s most celebrated literary voices. She is also an Ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and the GO Foundation, championing literacy and opportunity for First Nations communities.
At this special Ginsights event, we’ll be in conversation with Anita about her latest novel, The Paradise Pact – a heart-warming, laugh-out-loud story of friendship, resilience and second chances. The discussion will also explore the remarkable breadth of Anita’s work, from frontier-war histories and powerful non-fiction to bestselling rom-coms featuring Aboriginal women at the centre of the story.
The evening will feature a formal Q&A, followed by the opportunity to meet Anita over cocktails and continue the conversation in a relaxed and intimate setting. Our bookselling partner, Paperchain Bookstore, will have copies of The Paradise Pact available for purchase, with a book signing by Anita on the night. Olims Bar & Bistro will offer a cocktail of the night featuring Big River spirits, alongside a Big River G&T and their full menu of drinks and dining options.
All are welcome to come along to join this informal reader/writer conversation co-sponsored by Big River Distilling Co, Canberra Writers Festival and MARION.
Tickets are $12 and bookings are required.
